Celine Dion has lost her mother Maman Dion at the age of 92.

The singer who was more popular in the 90s made this known on Friday, 17th of January, 2020 while addressing her upcoming event in Miami.

The “Titanic” music star said, “Maman, we love you so much… We dedicate tonight’s show to you and I’ll sing to you with all my heart.”

Production Feelings who’s Celine’s manager also confirmed the death of Maman Dion, “Maman Dion died peacefully at home, last night, surrounded by her family.”

The music star also posted on social media an old black and white family photo showing the matriarch surrounded by her husband and their 14 children.

Maman Dion also known as Therese Dion before her death was a Canadian Television personality.

She was born on the Gaspé Peninsula, in Saint-Bernard-des-Lacs, Quebec., Canada.

Her husband Adhemar Dion died since 2003 after a long illness, she had 14 children and Celine Dion was the youngest of them.

Therese Dion hosted a cooking show on television for many years, launching her own line of dishes called “Pates de Maman Dion.”

Tributes are flooding in,one of them which includes the Prime Minister’s condolence to the family.

The Prime minister said on his Twitter handle that the Maman has a special place in their hearts.

“She has a special place in our hearts, she was an icon in her own right and a generous philanthropist.” Prime minister Justice Trudeau said.

The Quebic Primier, Francios Legault also sent his condolence saying, “a remarkable woman, so generous, so loving, who devoted her entire life to the well being of her family. Our greater Quebic family weeps at her departure.”

Maman Dion left behind, 14 children, 32 grand children and 48 great-grand children. May her soul rest in the bosom of Abraham.
