Brazilian official who posed with Trump in a photo is tested positive for coronavirus.
A Brazilian official who met and dined with President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago over the weekend has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to media reports Thursday, but Trump said he’s “not concerned.”
The official, Fabio Wajngarten, posted an Instagram image of himself posing with Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, who is leading the White House’s coronavirus task force.
It was not clear when the photo was taken, or by whom; it was posted on Wajngarten’s account four days ago, according to Instagram.
White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham in a statement later Thursday acknowledged that Trump and Pence were in contact with the man.
“Both the President and Vice President had almost no interactions with the individual who tested positive and do not require being tested at this time,” she said.
She also reiterated that “there is currently no indication to test patients without symptoms, and only people with prolonged close exposure to confirmed positive cases should self-quarantine.”
Corona virus is easily spread but its controllable, no cure for the disease for now, WHO is currently working on it.
